Kellys Beach & The Basin is less than 1 minute walk and offers a safe area where the whole family can swim and snorkel in safety.
There are many other family friendly beaches to choose from within a short drive including Elliott Heads, Mon Repos, Moore Park, Burnett Heads, Innes Park, Coral Cove and Woodgate Beach.
For a beachside picnic head to Bargara Esplanade Turtle Park with plenty of seating, barbecue areas and tables.
Mon Repos Turtle Centre
Witness majestic sea turtles make their unique journey ashore to lay their eggs on a guided tour from November to January.
Then watch them hatch and make their journey to the sea from January to March. Learn all about these extraordinary animals, their conservation and the turtle research that scientists dedicate their time to at the Mon Repos Turtle Centre.
Bargara Golf Club
Just a short stroll from The Point Resort is the 18-hole Bargara Golf Club.
Enjoy this quality golf course offering challenging par 3’s to long par 5’s, plus a new clubhouse that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

Burkitts Reef Dive Site
Burkitts Reef, located right off the shores of Bargara, is a popular local shore diving site.
Covered in lovely hard corals, Burkitts is home to stingrays, crayfish, moray eels, wobbegong sharks and typical reef fish including angelfish, lionfish, scorpionfish and butterflyfish.
Burkitts Reef is suitable for snorkellers and divers of all levels and expertise.
Bundaberg Rum Distillery
Located just 15 minutes drive from The Point Resort is the iconic Bundaberg Rum Distillery.
Head back in time where it all began and discover the history of the Bundaberg Rum including how it was discovered and how it is currently being produced. Choose from either a self-guided tour through the museum or a guided tour of the distillery.
Amandine Lavender
Amandine is a family owned and operated farm producing only enough lavender to supply their in-house gift shop.
Visitors can enjoy a self guided journey through the lavender patch and learn how to propagate your own lavender along the way. Lavender flourishes in the Bundaberg Region with the help of the sub-tropical climate of the Coral Coast.
Lady Elliot Island
Enjoy a breathtaking scenic flight to Lady Elliot Island along with a host of inclusions.
A quick 25-minute flight from the Bundaberg Airport, Lady Elliot Island is the first island on the Great Barrier Reef. This coral cay is world renowned as the home of the manta ray with over 700 individual manta rays known to be living in the surrounding waters.
